Are All HEPA Vacuums The Same

Hi, this is Eric - let's get right to your questions! Aren't all HEPA vacuums the same? That is a great question and, in fact, not all HEPA vacuums are the same. There are three different types of HEPA classifications you should know about. The first option is a vacuum using a filter made from HEPA media. The material used to make the filter is HEPA-rated but doesn't quite meet all HEPA standards. The second classification is a vacuum that says is has a "HEPA filter." Here, the filter is made with HEPA media and the filter itself meets HEPA standards. However, the vacuum system is not completely sealed, so some of the air is getting around the filter. The third type is HEPA filtration vacuum. For this type, the filter meets HEPA standards, all the air passes through the filter with no leaks in the system, and the air that is exhausted out of the vacuum meets HEPA standards. Not all situations require HEPA filtration, though, there are numerous advantages of having it. HEPA is the most beneficial in areas where health hazards such as asbestos, lead, silica, etc. exist. With a fully sealed system that meets HEPA standards, you will notice the overall difference in health and air quality in your facility.
