Clean VCT

Vinyl Composition Tile - More commonly referred to as VCT, this flooring is popular for high traffic areas like lobbies or school hallways. This durable floor can withstand weight and high foot traffic, however, can easily dull over time. It has a porous surface, hence the need for adding protective coats of finish and regular maintenance. It's important to approach VCT cleaning with care. Scrubbing uneven floors or spending too much time in one spot can cause burning on the floor finish.
Scrubbers for VCT Cleaning
Choose the right scrubber based on square footage needs and budget.
Keep in mind: Larger scrubbers (24” +) are best used in areas with open space or large aisles to move through.
Floor Machines for Compact Spaces
Floor machines are recommended for small spaces, under 1,000 sq. ft. per job. Keep in mind, a wet dry vacuum will be needed to pick up the water.
Risers

Powr-Flite pad drivers include a 1.25" riser. A riser simply gives additional clearance from under the machine allowing a 17" pad driver to go on a 17" machine.
WARNING: Tufted pad drivers look similar to some brushes. Many large scrubbers ship with a pad driver- machines do not ship with brushes unless ordered.
Recommended Pad
Choose a pad the same size or 1" larger than the pad river it will go on.
Red buffing pads can be used to scrub out light scuff marks and remedy dulling caused over time.
Many large scrubbers ship with one box of Red Buffing pads- there are 5 pads per box.
Recommended Brush
With bristles slightly stiffer than nylon, the Polypropylene Shampoo Brush is strong enough to get out tough stains without damaging the VCT.
Choose a brush 2" smaller than your machine.
